Two weeks after leaving the snowy North , and after a visit in Pompano with Cindy's Hinsdale High School friend Mandalee,we have arrived at Sugarloaf Key, just 20 miles northeast of Key West; after stopping at one of our favorite lunch stops to celebrate. The Island Grill is now a traditional stop of ours for fresh local seafood, and our tentsite at KOA is remote (far from the kazillion RVs and bathrooms) and set among the mangroves and low flying pelicans. For fellow sailors Up North it's 75 degrees and sunny today with winds of 15-20 mph.

Mini Great Loop Underway
The first port o'call of Southport,NC has been reached as we brought a frigid winter clipper along; so that the temperature is a nippy 35 degrees as we haul the 22ft sailboat Balia out of the marina onto its trailer with help from fellow sailors Ann and Gary. Early next week we travel to the hopefully warmer Keys
